Every EduHost school gets its own website. Use this guide to choose a design (a theme), then change its pages, colours and header in the site editor.
Before you start
- Only school admins can manage themes. Other staff see the message View only — only school admins can manage themes.
- You can work on a theme before parents see it. Visitors see only the theme marked Live.
Add a theme
- In the sidebar, open Themes.
- Look under Your themes. If it says No themes yet, go to the presets below it.
- Pick a preset you like and press Add theme.
- The new theme now shows under Your themes.
Edit pages, colours and header
- On your theme, press Customise. You see Opening the editor… for a moment.
- To add a page, press New page.
- To add content to a page, press Insert section. The section appears straight away.
- To add words, use Add text. To add a box or shape, use Add shape.
- To change colours and the look of an item, select it and use the settings in the Right panel.
- To change the top part of the site, select the Header. It shows on every page of the theme, so you change it once.
- Made a mistake? Press Undo (Ctrl Z). Press Redo (Ctrl ⇧ Z) to bring it back.
- Press Preview site to see how the site looks. Press Back to the draft to keep editing.
Put your theme on the website
- Go back to Themes.
- On the theme you want, press Set as live.
- That theme is now marked Live and visitors see it.
Good to know
- If you see Unsaved changes in the editor, your latest changes are not saved yet.
- Versions in the editor lets you look at earlier copies of your work.
- You can switch designs any time. Your content stays.
- If a theme shows Get update, a newer version of that preset is ready.
- To show notices, teachers, jobs and the calendar on your site, see Show notices, teachers, jobs and calendar on the site.
