Use this page to put a student on a bus. You choose the route, the stop and the date the child starts riding. You can also set a date when the child stops riding.
Before you start
- Your routes, stops and buses must already be added. See the article Add routes, stops and buses.
- Add at least one distance circle. Until one exists, no rider has a fare.
Steps
- Open Transport → Riders.
- Click the button to add a new rider.
- In Who, type the student's name or admission number. Pick the student from the list.
- In Route, choose the bus route.
- In Stop, choose where the child gets on and off.
- In Direction, choose whether the child rides both ways or only one way.
- In From, choose the date the child starts riding.
- If the child will stop riding on a known date, enter that end date.
- Leave Fare by hand empty to use the fare from the distance circle. Type an amount only if this child pays a different fare.
- Click Save.
The student now shows on that route. If a route says Nobody is on this route yet, add riders here on the Riders tab.
Good to know
- To move a child to another bus or stop, add them again with the new route. Someone already riding is moved, not added twice.
- The fare comes from the stop's distance from school and the distance circles.
- One-way riders pay a part of the round-trip fare. The school sets this part when it sets up transport billing.
- The number of seats on a bus is used to show when a route is over capacity.
- To bill parents for the bus, see Charge transport fees.
