Save message templates

Save messages you send often under Broadcast → Saved messages, so you can reuse them without typing again.

Saved messages are ready-made texts you can use again and again. Use them for messages you send often, like fee reminders, holiday news or meeting invitations, so you do not have to type the same words every time.

Before you start

  • Saved messages are part of Broadcast. You need a role that can open Broadcast.
  • If you cannot see the page, ask your school admin. They can change what your role can do under Roles & Permissions.

Save a new message

  1. In the sidebar, open Broadcast → Saved messages.
  2. Click the button to add a new saved message.
  3. Give it a short name you will recognise later, for example "Fee reminder".
  4. Type the message text.
  5. Click Save.

Your message now shows in the list on the Saved messages page.

Use a saved message

  1. Open Broadcast → Compose.
  2. Choose the saved message you want. Its text fills in for you.
  3. Check the text and change anything that is different this time, like a date.
  4. Choose who gets it and send it as usual.

For the full sending steps, see the article Send a message to parents (Broadcast).

Good to know

  • Keep each saved message short and clear. Parents read most messages on a phone.
  • Check dates and amounts every time before you send. A saved message does not change by itself.
  • To see what was already sent, open Broadcast → Sent.
  • Messages that go out by themselves, like absent alerts, are set up separately. See Automatic messages.
  • For SMS rules such as sender ID, see SMS settings, sender ID and quiet hours.
