By default, EduHost takes attendance once a day for each class. If you want teachers to mark attendance for every period, turn on period-wise marking in attendance setup.
Before you start
- You need a role that can open the attendance setup page. If you see "This page isn't part of your role", ask your school admin. They can change this under Roles & Permissions.
- It helps to set up your school periods first, under Timetable → Periods.
Steps
- In the sidebar, open Attendance → Setup.
- Find the setting for period-wise marking.
- Turn it on.
- Click Save. When the change is saved, you see Saved.
After you turn it on
- Teachers mark attendance from Attendance → Mark, as before.
- On a teacher's dashboard, My periods today shows how many of their periods are not marked yet.
- The attendance register and reports still work. To learn more, read View attendance reports.
Good to know
- If you change your mind, go back to Attendance → Setup and turn the setting off.
- For marking once a day, read Mark daily attendance.
- To tell parents when a child is absent, read Send absent alerts to parents automatically.
