Use this to record which children came to school today. Mark one class at a time. Office staff can do it on the computer, and teachers can do it from their phone.

Before you start

  • Your classes and students must already be added.
  • You need a role that is allowed to mark attendance.

Steps

  1. In the sidebar, open Attendance → Mark. You can also use Mark attendance in Quick actions on the Dashboard.
  2. Choose the class and section you want to mark.
  3. Check the date. It should be today.
  4. For each child, choose present, absent or half day.
  5. Check the list once more.
  6. Save the attendance.

Teachers marking from the app

Teachers can mark attendance from the web or the mobile app.

  1. Sign in to the app.
  2. On the teacher dashboard, tap Take attendance under Your work.
  3. Mark each child and save.

A teacher can also tap Open Teacher app on the dashboard for simple screens made for the phone.

Good to know

  • Until you mark, the dashboard shows Today's attendance is not marked yet in Things to do today.
  • Parents see their child's attendance in the parent portal and app. It can show Present, Absent, Late, Half day, Leave or Holiday.
  • When the school approves a leave request from a family, those days show as Leave, not absent.
  • A past academic year is read-only. You can change its attendance only when the school is correcting that year.
  • To mark each period separately, see Take attendance period by period.
  • To see totals and registers, see View attendance reports.
  • To tell parents when a child is absent, see Send absent alerts to parents automatically.
