Use the Material page to share study material with a class, such as a link, a file or a short note. Families see it only after you publish it.
Before you start
- Find Material in the sidebar, under the Teaching group. If you cannot see it, ask your school admin to give your role this page.
- To link material to a part of the syllabus, add the syllabus first. See the article Add the syllabus.
Steps
- In the sidebar, open Teaching → Material. If nothing is shared yet, you will see No material yet.
- Click the button to add new material.
- In Title, type a short name, for example "NCERT chapter 2".
- Under What is it, choose the kind of material: Link, File or The note.
- For a link, type a full address that starts with https://. For a file, add the file. For a note, type your message, for example "Bring the counters on Thursday".
- Under Who it is for, choose the class that should get this material.
- If you like, pick a Syllabus unit to link the material to what the class is studying.
- Click Save as a draft to keep it private for now, or Save and publish to share it with families now.
Change or take back material
- To share a draft later, click Publish.
- To hide material that families can already see, click Unpublish. It becomes a draft again.
- To change it, click Edit, make your changes and click Save.
- To delete it, click Remove.
Good to know
- Nothing reaches a family until it is published. Drafts are safe to work on.
- Material is not homework. To set work with a due date, use Homework.
- To write what the class did each day, see Fill the class diary. To plan your lessons, see Write lesson plans.
