A discount or concession lowers the fee a student has to pay. Use it when you give a scholarship, a special concession to a family, or a lower fee to brothers and sisters who study in your school.
Before you start
- Your fee heads and fee structure should already be set up. See Create fee heads and Build a fee structure.
- You need a role that can open Fees. If you cannot see it, ask your school admin.
- EduHost has no separate scholarship screen. Add a scholarship as a discount or concession.
Give a discount or concession
- Go to Fees → Fee setup.
- Open the part of the page for discounts and concessions.
- Add a new discount.
- Give it a clear name, for example "Merit scholarship" or "Staff child concession".
- Enter how much the fee goes down.
- Choose the student or students who get it.
- Click Save.
Switch on the sibling discount
The sibling discount rule gives a lower fee when more than one child from the same family studies in your school. You can switch this rule on or off.
- Go to Fees → Fee setup.
- Find the sibling discount rule.
- Switch the rule on.
- Set how much discount brothers and sisters get.
- Click Save.
To stop giving the sibling discount, switch the rule off and save.
Good to know
- Give each discount a name that explains why it is given. This helps when you check reports later.
- Check a student's bill under Fees → Bills to make sure the fee is correct.
- Parents see their bills and the amount due in the parent portal.
- To add a fine for late payment, see Charge a late fine.
