Post fee collections into Accounts

Turn on the switch that adds the fees you collect to Accounts, so you don't type each payment again.

EduHost can post the fees you collect into Accounts for you. Turn this on if you keep your school's books in EduHost and do not want to type each fee payment again.

Before you start

  • Your school must use both Fees and Accounts. If you cannot see Accounts in the sidebar, it is not turned on for your school.
  • It helps to set up your account heads first. See the article Set up account heads.
  • You need a role that can change fee settings. If a page says it is not part of your role, ask your school admin.

Steps

  1. Open Fees in the sidebar.
  2. Open the page where the fee settings are kept.
  3. Find the option to post fees into Accounts.
  4. Turn the option on.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Wait for the Saved message.

Check that it works

  1. Take a real fee payment as usual from Fees → Take fee.
  2. Open Accounts in the sidebar.
  3. Look for the payment in your day book or account reports. See the article Day book and account reports.

Good to know

  • This is a switch. You turn it on once, not for each payment.
  • When the switch is off, fees are still collected and receipts still work. They are just not added to Accounts.
  • If you post fees automatically, do not also add the same fees by hand. That would count the money twice. To add other money, see Record an expense or other income.
  • To see bank and cash balances, see Bank and cash books.
