Admit one new student: fill in their details, put them in a class and section, and add guardians and documents.

Use this when a new child joins your school and you want to add them one at a time. If you have many students to add at once, see Import students in bulk (Excel).

Before you start

  • Make sure the child's class and section already exist under Classes.
  • Keep the child's details and the parent or guardian details ready.
  • Keep any documents ready on your computer or phone, such as a birth certificate.

Steps

  1. On the dashboard, click Add student. You can also click New at the top and choose Add student.
  2. The New student form opens. Type the child's name and other details, like date of birth and gender.
  3. Choose the Class and the Section.
  4. Add the admission number and roll number if your school uses them.
  5. Add at least one guardian. Type their name and phone number. Add more guardians if needed.
  6. If the form lets you upload documents, add them now. You can also add them later.
  7. If EduHost warns that this student may already be in the system, check the existing record first. Do not add the same child twice.
  8. Click Save. When you see Saved, the student is added.

If the form does not save

  • A message tells you how many things to fix before saving. Fill in or correct those fields, then click Save again.
  • Fields marked (optional) can be left empty.

Good to know

  • You can find all students later under Students → All students.
  • To add or check documents later, go to Students → Documents. See Keep student documents and expiry alerts.
  • Colleges and coaching centres see Courses or Batches instead of classes. The steps are the same.
  • If you cannot open this page, it is not part of your role. Ask your school admin to change it under Roles & Permissions.
  • To make an ID card for the new student, see Generate student ID cards.
