An online test is a question paper that students answer in the app or portal. Use it for quick quizzes, class tests or practice papers that EduHost can check for you.
Before you start
- Students need a student login to sit the test.
- Keep your questions and correct answers ready.
Steps
- Go to Exams → Online Tests.
- Start a new test. If you have none yet, the page shows No papers yet.
- Type a Title, for example Maths — rounding quiz, and choose the Subject.
- Choose the class that will sit the test. Leave it on all when the whole class sits it.
- Set Opens. Leave it blank to open the test as soon as it is published.
- Set Closes. The test shuts at this time for everyone.
- Fill in Minutes each student gets, Attempts allowed and When they see their marks.
- Add Instructions if needed, for example Twenty minutes. No calculators.
- Click Save.
- Open The paper and add a question. Type the Question and choose its Kind.
- Set the Marks. Add Negative marks only if you want them.
- For a question with choices, add each option. Use Another choice to add more and mark the right one.
- For a short typed answer, fill in the Answer key. Separate more than one accepted answer with |, for example New Delhi|Delhi.
- Add an Explanation if you like, then click Save the question. Repeat for every question.
- When the paper is ready, click Publish.
Good to know
- Blank answers are never penalised, even with negative marks.
- Capital letters and extra spaces in typed answers are forgiven.
- The Explanation is shown to the student with their result.
- You can turn on Shuffle the questions and Shuffle the choices so each student sees a different order.
- To make changes after publishing, click Back to draft. To end the test early, click Close it.
- Students see the test under Online tests in their portal. See How students take an online test and Mark online tests and see scores.
