Exams & resultsUpdated 17 Oct 20261 min read
Use this when your school has an exam coming up, like a unit test or a half-yearly exam. You add the exam once, then set when each class writes each subject.
Before you start
- Set up your terms first. See Create exam terms.
- Set up how marks become grades. See Set up grade scales.
- Check that each class has its subjects under Subjects → Class subjects.
- Make sure you are working in the current academic year. A past year is read-only.
Steps: create the exam
- In the sidebar, open Exams → Exams. You see the list of all exams.
- Click the button to add a new exam.
- Type a clear name for the exam, for example "Half-yearly 2026".
- Fill in the other details the form asks for.
- Click Save. The new exam now shows in the exams list.
Steps: set the schedule
- In the exams list, open the exam you just made.
- Go to the part of the page for the exam schedule.
- Pick a class.
- For each subject of that class, set the exam date.
- Do the same for every class that writes this exam.
- Click Save.
Good to know
- On the Dashboard, the Exams & results card shows your exams. If you have no exams yet, you can also start from Create exam there.
- An exam can show as Draft, Scheduled or Results out.
- After the exam, teachers use Enter marks. Marks can also be brought in from an Excel file, and marks can be locked when they are final.
- Parents and students do not see results until the school publishes them.
- Who can create exams depends on the role. Your school admin can change this under Roles & Permissions.
