Use this when a student borrows a book from the school library, brings it back, or needs more time with it. You can also see which books are late.
Before you start
- The book must already be in the library. If it is not, see the article Add books to the library.
- The student must be in EduHost. You can find them by roll number or name.
Issue a book
- In the sidebar, go to Library → On loan.
- Click Issue book. The Issue a book form opens.
- In Student (by roll number or name), type the roll number or name and pick the student.
- In Book, search by title or author and pick the book.
- In Copy serial (optional — blank picks the next available), type the copy number, or leave it empty.
- Check the Due date and change it if needed.
- Click the button at the bottom of the form to save the loan.
Take a book back
- Go to Library → On loan.
- Find the student's loan in the list.
- Click Return.
Give more time (renew)
- Go to Library → On loan.
- Find the loan and click Renew. The Renew loan window opens.
- Check the New due date. It starts as the current due date plus the renewal period. Change it if needed.
- Click the button to save the new date.
Find late books
- Go to Library → On loan.
- Turn on Overdue only to see only books past their due date.
Good to know
- The library shows totals for Issued, Overdue and Borrowers, so you can see at a glance how many books are out.
- Late fines are optional. Your school can switch library fines on or off.
- Past loans are kept under Library → History.
- If you cannot see Library, ask your school admin. They can change what your role can do under Roles & Permissions.
