Classes and sections are the base of EduHost. Students, attendance, homework and fees are all set up by class. Set up your classes first, before you add students.
Before you start
- Make a list of your classes, for example Nursery, LKG, Class 1 to Class 10.
- Write down the sections for each class, for example A, B and C.
- Colleges and coaching centres see a different word. Classes may show as Courses or Batches, and sections as streams or groups.
Add one class
- In the sidebar, open Classes.
- Click the button to add a new class.
- Type the class name.
- Fill in the other details you need, such as Class code and Capacity.
- Click Save.
Add many classes at once
EduHost can create a batch of classes in one go. This saves time when you set up a new school.
- Open Classes.
- Choose the option to create many classes together.
- Enter each class you want to add.
- Check the list, then save.
Add sections to a class
- Open Classes and click the class.
- Look at the Sections part of the page. If it says No sections. Edit the class to add some., the class has no sections yet.
- Click Edit.
- Add each section, for example A and B.
- Click Save.
Set an age limit
You can set an age limit for a class. This helps you check that children are admitted to the right class for their age.
- Open the class and click Edit.
- Find the age limit fields and enter the ages for this class.
- Click Save.
Good to know
- Each class page shows Capacity and Fill rate, so you can see how full the class is.
- To remove a class you no longer use, open it and click Delete class.
- Next, see Assign a class teacher. At the end of the year, see Promote students to the next class.
